People think they know what real pain feels like.
One main cause for their pain is death.
Most know that death is necessary, if the death is natural.
But one of the hardest pains to understand is suicide.
I have felt the pain of losing a friend to soon myself.
But there is an even greater pain to be felt.
People think that those who kill themselves have no feelings.
That they don’t care about other’s feelings.
When that person goes through more pain before they do it then the people that have to live with them gone.
You think it hurts not being able to see them again.
What about what they feel?
You have no idea what it’s like trying to live your life, knowing that you will take it.
You have no idea what it’s like to know you will never amount to anything and that your life is pathetic.
You have no idea what it’s like to try and look at your friends... Knowing soon they will all feel the pain you yourself have experienced.
You have no idea what it’s like to be in a dark room with a gun to your head, crying, and trying to get the courage to end it...
Having felt all of these things before, I will quietly continue to live, until the one thing keeping me alive leaves.  At which time I will experience real pain again.
Though this time it will end.
This one I wrote a few nights ago, and um yeah its kinda to/for a friend, to show them how I feel, but whatever..

Okay. Well here is my advanced critique...that is encouraged.

So number 1. This is a poem. As others have said before me, this is not prose.
Poem is emotion...it's the one thing in this world without rules.
And you also put this in open so it can even be simply spoken. But what makes this a poem is the emotion. A blur of thoughts and feelings written down is a poem, and in this case, a thoughtful and beautiful one.

I really like this poem because it does portray a truth that many don't see. A lot of people always say that suicide is self-centered because the people don't care how others feel and all they're thinking about is themselves but they're wrong. That's why suicide is harder than death. Because you have the choice to kill yourself or live. The one committing it has to deal with their feelings, and how others will feel from their choice. It's more tragic on their part and the ones who think it's a selfish act are selfish for only thinking of their feelings and not the suicide victim's. So I think this is a truth people should see, so they could help.

Sorry this is so long...but yeah =)

I liked this a lot.
